ILR Savings Route

Hi Guys, stuck in a bit of a loop here.
We applied for ILR Set M, savings route, Sept last year, and didn't hear anything back.
After 8 months had gone past, we asked for an update, they asked us again to send the banks statements which were a part of the of document upload. I sent it to them last week.
But now they are asking for wage slips and employment contracts? The only reason we went down the savings route is to save us from all the additional paperwork. My spouse is an independent contractor working overseas and his payslips are non-standard and has always created issues.
Any tips on how we can go about this? I didn't realise that wage documents would be mandatory under savings route! Please help.

You do not need to provide anything else other than saving evidence. Could it be that your cash saving amount is not enough? What was the level of cash saving you have in the bank ?

We submitted 42,000, for a period of 8 months.
I believe the ILR requirements are for £34,600?
They asked for all baks account statements, after savings account statements were submitted with the application. Now they have asked for employment records - wage slips, contract etc.
I dont even know how to say no to further information! or the reason why they are asking!

There is then no need to supplement the income from any other sources. Simply respond that you are relying on cash savings and not any employment income

It looks like the current minimum for cash savings £46,500, perhaps this is the reason? Maybe it was lower at the time of application but has now gone up?
Please let us know how they respond as I am considering doing the same, as will be changing job a couple of months before the application and want to save on paperwork!
