ILR 28 DAYS from Tier 2 (General) timeline help please !

Hi all,
Thanks in advance for anyone willing to help! I am panicking atm!
Visa route - Tier 4 changed into Tier 2 (General), now trying to get ILR
BRP issue date: 8/11/2017 (1st BRP valid 3 years)
BRP expiry date: 28/9/2022 (2nd BRP after 2 year extension)
If it helps - decision letter when I was notified by Home Office that my application has been approved was dated 28/10/2017.
Working backwards from first issue date 28 days would be 10/10/2022 - which is 12 days after my current BRP expiry date.
Would I need to apply for an extension and then apply for ILR next year?
Thanks again
