Applying for ILR - same conditions of stay needed?

Hello everyone,

I am about to apply for an extension of my spouse visa and hopefully at the end of my extension I will have been living in the UK lawfully for 5 years. When I apply for ILR, do I need to have the same conditions of stay as I had during the 5 years on my spouse visa?
For example we don’t meet the minimum income requirement (wife has been on carer’s allowance and this is still the case) but what if for some reason she stops caring and doesn’t receive the benefit? Would this affect our ILR application?

You need 60 months of visas granted under the 5-year route to get ILR under the 5-year route. If you do not meet the requirements under the 5 year route, then your extension will be granted under the 10-year route where you have to start the ILR clock from scratch. You only need to meet the requirement at the time of the application
