Hello everyone

Please I need advise in preparation for future ilr.
I was granted tier 2 now skilled worker 13/3/20 but was unable to enter uk due to lockdown and fight cancellations in my home country until 25/9/20 making it a total of 196 days. Can I start counting continous residence for ilr from when my visa was granted even though the 180 days rule will be broken but also considering the pandemic exception guidance for break in continuous residence. Evidence of lockdown and flight cancelation will be provided

This is up to UKVI. Travel to the UK was largely possible, though there were testing or quarantine requirements in place. I'd say you need to prove that travel was impossible for you and not simply inconvenient.

Thank you for your response. Yes although uk borders were open, border closure and flight cancelation in my country made it impossible to even reach the UK.

Not sure you can use it' Logically you haven't spent 5 years in the UK. Aim for ending of August 2025. The lockdown didn't start until the last week of March, 2023.
Worst case, if you do attempt to apply for ILR, you would be told you need to extend. So make sure you have your extension documents ready.
