Hi All,

A quick query. A little more than 10 years ago I was on a Tier 2 work permit which was curtailed as the company went into administration. Immediately after, I got another job and applied for a new Tier 2. But this application was refused as the company had not performed a RLMT as was required at the time. I promptly left the UK within the stipulated period in the refusal letter on a voluntary basis. I have mentioned this in all me previous visa applications (currently on Spouse) Question is, do I need to mention the curtailment and subsequent application refusal when I apply for ILR (will apply in about a months time after 5 years on Spouse visa).

Thanks a lot for your response and apologies for the delay in mine! I will include it in my application as previously then. Only reason I ask is, it took about 6 months for the home office to respond back the last timeI applied and I thought this may have been a causative factor.

There is no confirmation it is the reason for the delay. Applications are mostly delayed these days. Check timelines threads.

Hi Everyone,

I got my 1st FLR (M) on 16th July 2018, with the second extension of the FLR (M) expiring in December23. I will be applying for IRL SET (M) 22/23 June23 (less than 28 days from 5th year anniversary of 16July23, I believe the 28th day would be 19Jun23).

I will be applying for ILR via the SET (M) route (with my spouse being a British Citizen), end of the coming week and I have made a list of documents that I have collected over the past 2.5 years. I wanted your feed back on the list of documents that I have collected and if I am missing any or need more. Thank you all for taking time out to go through my post and providing feedback.
Below is the list... I am the applicant and my spouse is the sponsor, in the list below. Apologies, if this is a long post.

I have collected the documents against a backbone of our Joint bank account statement for every 4 months for the past 2.5 years..and the documents surrounding these are what I reckon to be of the highest value (please correct me if I'm wrong in my assumption).

2021
1) January21 - Joint Bank Statement
2) February21 - Electoral office letters (individually addressed) same date on both
3) April21 - Joint Bank Statement, Thames water bill (Both our names on the bill)
4) May21 - Election Poll Card (Individually addressed but for both of us)
5) July21- Joint Bank Statement
6) October21 - Joint Bank Statement, TV Licence and Barclays loan letter(both in sponsors name)

2022
7) January22 - Joint Bank Statement
8 ) March22 - Thames water bill (both our names on the bill), Citizenship ceremony letter (Sponsor)
9) April22 - Joint Bank Statement
10) May22 - Poll cards (Both our names), Jury summons letter (Sponsors name)
11) July22 - Joint Bank Statement, Barclays loan letter (Applicant)
12) August22 - Election enrolment letter (Both our names)
13) October22 - Joint Bank statement, Thames water bill (both our names), TV Licence (Sponsor), Work health benefits letter (Applicant)

2023
14) January23 - Joint bank statement, Pension letter (sponsor), Barclay loan letter (applicant), NHS letter (applicant)
15) February23 - Mobile phone contract (Sponsor), Barclay loan letter(Application), Degree confirment letter (Sponsor), NHS letter (Sponsor)
16) April23 - Joint Bank statement, Thames water bill (both our names), Barclays loan (Applicant)
17) May23 - NHS letter (Sponsor), Car Insurance (Sponsor)
18) June23 - Joint bank statement, Royal institution letter (sponsor).

Along with all of this, I have 6 months of pay-checks/ corresponding bank statements, Letter from employer, P60s for the past 3 years, rental agreement as a tenant, council tax bills (these are only in my name). Copies of all pages of my passport and my spouse's passports (spouse is a dual citizen), a copy of my current (FLRM) BRP, my degree certificate from UK, LITUK test URN.

I also hope this would be of benefit to someone else in the future as a reference list.

You do not need to dump a huge list of documents here. There is no specific requirement for cohabitation so you do not need anything specific. You provide whatever you have covering the last two years

Apologies, one last question. Along with the relationship/marriage declaration form that’s comes with SET(M) that needs to be signed, are there further consent forms that require signing as well? I remember, there were three consent forms that required signing during FLR(M) application, would the same three require being signed off for SET(M) as well? I only ask as previously, these three popped up at the end of the FLR(M) application, but have not for SET(M).

Pardon my question AmazonianX, should have clarified earlier, I’ve filled in the application already. Only need to submit it. Waiting to be comfortably within my 28 days limit of my 5th year FLR(M) anniversary of 16July2018. SET(M) application at the end only came up with the relationship/ marriage declaration to be signed but not the consent forms for Home office to verify application info/ third part info and third party sponsor (3 consent forms) that came up at the end of FLR(M). I suppose these are not required if they haven’t come up at the end of SET(M)??

They are required for all applications.

So at the “START” of the application there are questions whether you provide evidence that is related to THIRD parties, such as joint bank accounts, bills etc. When you answer “yes” to those questions, at the end of your application you should get those other 3 declarations for third parties checks, they should be in your documents checklist (excluding the partner’s declaration). At the start of the application and subsequent sections, I could not find any reference/ requests to provide any third party information. There is no question asking if I would be submitting documents related to Joint bank accounts, bills etc.. the initial section required me to fill out info such as (in brief) that I'm applying as a partner of a settled person (British, hence asked for declaration), If I'm using immigration advisors (No). Then if was about personal information (home address, relationship status, nationality, biometrics, LITUK, english language eligibility, convictions etc). Then it was about spouse's details, marriage details. The next section was about finances (meeting it with my salary, payslips and bank statements) and the next section was to do with mandatory documents (spouse passport and declaration) and optional documents (the correspondence, tenancy agreement, council tax etc.), Finally the declaration. That was it for me. This is in the SET (M) application form as when I save it and email my self a copy to return to later, the email says SET(M).

Thanks for all your feedback over the past few weeks. My SET (M) application was successful. Only the spouse declaration form was required, no other consent forms were required.
