Hi All or Moderator ,
I am British citizen and would like to apply a ILR for my wife.
- She entered in UK on 20th October 2018.
-She will be completing her 5 years residency on 20/10/2023.
-However she has a valid visa until March 2024.
In this case can I apply ILR on 21th October 2023 onwards or should I await until March 2024 ?
I have a plan to submit a ILR application on 21st October 2023 as she will be completed her 5 year residency on 20/10/2023.
I await your recommendation/advice please !
Thanks and regards,

You can apply when she qualifies. Dont have to wait for a visa to expire.

Going by the date you gave above, she qualified to apply since 22nd September 2023. So you can go ahead already.

This confusion arises because UKVI often tells applicants that they can apply for ILR before visa expiry. For some, this is ok but for many that is misleading as you should apply for ILR when you qualify for ILR and your visa expiry is totally an irrelevant factor for this qualification

Thank you Zimba and all other helping hands here !
I was 99 % sure about that qualifying period has nothing to do with extended visa expiry date . I am done thank you.

Hi Moderator and all here,
Its SET(M) application and I haven't got any downloadable documents for the following verification consent letters which were asked at the time of FLR in 2021 but not now in ILR application ?.
1. Third party consent letter.
2. Applicant's consent letter.
Do you have any experiences on it .How can they verify our supporting documents without our third party consent letter ?.
Thank you for your support.
Kind regards

Do you or are you using 3rd party support for your SET M application?
Use Google search function and you will most probably find it to download.
