Hi, I'm about to apply for ILR. I have read All you need to know about the sponsor letter for Skilled Worker route and have 2 questions.

1. Do I still need a letter about absences, but it doesn't need to be from my previous employer? I've recently moved jobs and have only been working with my current employer for 1.5 months and haven't taken any leaves yet. However I have travels outside UK during the weekends. What letter should I request from my current employer? What should it contain?

2. With my previous employer I've had 2 work trips over the last 5 years. Do I need to attach the documentation related to that?

Just a letter from your current employer should suffice. Simply get your current employer to say all the periods of absence from work were approved by them.

There can be an overlap between your absence from work and your absence from the UK, but the employer letter is NOT intended to cover all absences from the UK but just absences from WORK . The details of what you did during these periods are not required at all. This is a common misconception here. An employer does not need to write to UKVI about what you did during your absences (how can they know or confirm ???), that is unreasonable and ridiculous and the rules do not require such a letter.

Thanks for your reply! So what should letter from current employer look like given that I don't have any absences from work while being employed with them?

"CONFIRMATION OF UK ABSENCE FOR MR. XXXXX
He is entitled to XXX vacation days a year and all the periods of absence from work have been approved by us"
or given that I had no periods of absence, should I phrase it in the following way:
He is entitled to XXX vacation days and hasn't used any vacation days while being employed with us
