I am on a 10 year route for settlement with currently on a main Skilled Worker visa sponsored by my employer.I have completed 9 years in the UK and eligible to apply for my own ILR next year 2025 June . Currently my employement has risk of a layoff , so I am looking for options to switch to a dependent visa .

My spouse is currently on their independent skilled worker main visa and will be applying for his ILR next month via his 10 year route
My query is if I want to go with a dependent visa application which one should option should I choose, so that it supports my 10 year settlement in 2025 -
1. Applying as a Tier 2 dependent visa using priority service get that approved before by husband applies for his ILR
2. Applying for ILR dependent visa once my husband gets the decision (he is planning to apply for a priority service too )

Which dependent route is more feasible given that my 10 year clock doesn’t get reset . I need to change to dependent route as my job has a risk of layoff in upcoming months .

You can switch to any route you choose. Your 10 years doesn't get reset.

10 years can be a combination of many unaligned routes.

The key here is spending 10 years legal stay in the UK.

Switching has no effect on your 10 year lawful residence as advised. Just note that the rules covering the 10 year route are changing. Do you have uninterrupted years of lawful residence up until now without any periods of overstaying ??
