Hey everyone,
My wife entered the UK on the initial spouse visa on April 2019, so 5 year period should be satisfied. She is due to apply for her ILR 5 year route before BRP card expires on July 17th so it would be great if anyone with experience or knowledge can have a brief look over our document checklist before we pay the fee and book biometrics?

Document checklist:
General
Application fee confirmation
Application form (set M)
Applicant current passport all pages scanned
Consent to checks Part 1, 2 & 3
Current BRP
Old BRP
Cover letter

Proof of Finances
6 months of payslips December - Current
6 months of bank statements (where my salary is being paid to)
Letter from employer with the below info (Signed)
Confirmation of employment
Employment type
Gross Annual Salary
How long Employment held
Period over which the person has been paid the level of salary stated in application

July 2023 - Gas bill (joined)
December 2023 - Gas bill (joined)
March 2024 - Council tax bill (joined)
May 2024 - Council Tax bill (Joined)

List of Absence from UK over 2 weeks or longer
Mentioned and explained on application
Passport pages corresponding to absence

Exams
Life in the UK Test pass number included in application
B1 Test pass number included in application

Partner Documents
Signed family declaration
Partner current passport scans all pages scanned
Birth Certificate
Russian Marriage Certificate (certified and translated and used in previous FLR application)

Some questions:
  • Should scans of current passport exlcude empty pages?
  • Do we need to include the applicants old passport scans? This has visitor visas from 2010 & 2014 to UK
  • Wife alone meets the financial requirements, but as a precaution is there any harm in attaching my financial documents as well and a cover letter stating this? Payslips, bank statements, p60 and employment letter? Or is this just wasting the immigration advisers time?
  • Should we include pictures together over the past few years? I see many applications not doing this, so just wondering if it matters
Thanks for any guidance and help as this will be our first time applying without support from a paid advisor :D

You do not need to upload empty pages of passports
Only send passport copies covering the last 5 years
No need to provide your finances if the wife qualifies on her own
No need at all to send any pictures
