Hi Zimba
Your responses are very helpful. I have been following your responses.

I have a similar query. Please can you help?

I am on a Tier 2 visa. I arrived in the UK on 22nd September 2019. I collected my BRP on 23rd September 2019. I am applying for ILR this year.

The date of BRP issue is 3/09/2019. My understanding is earliest I can apply is from 6th August. The home office website says " The earliest you can apply is 28 days before you’ve been in the UK for 5 years on a qualifying visa".

My question is if I apply by 6th August and choose the priority option, I will get ILR stamping before 27th August and will not complete 5 years-28 days of stay in UK if I consider visa vignette date.

Please can you clarify if that is the case?
I will then apply on 22nd August

Many thanks and kind regards
MG

Please refrain from tagging your questions on other posts. The advice given to others in the same circumstance applies to you too.

The first visa issue date + 5 years - 28 = The earliest date of ILR eligibility. This means from this date onwards you can be granted ILR. The date of arrival is irrelevant. The date of biometrics is also irrelevant.

You need to ensure on the date of the decision, you are eligible for ILR: Applicants can benefit from the date of the ILR decision
