PBS dependent applying for ILR - Child over 16

Post by chelam » Thu Sep 05, 2024 11:43 pm

Hi,
I am in the process of applying ILR for me and my 2 children. My elder one is 17 year old and currently we hold PBS dependent visa. My spouse has ILR, got it through Tier-2 General 5-year route.
My question is related to my elder daughter, who is 17 years old. I think, I will need to prove her living address and financial dependency.
- She has bank account and we will be able to submit bank statement
Should I need to get GP address proof and School bonafide letter for additional address proofs?
Also, I am not sure what evidence I need to provide for her financial dependent on us?

In addition, my younger son is 13 year old and Should I need to get any address proof for him? There is no mention in the guidelines. Can you please help to address the above queries? thx.

“Must not be leading an independent life” or “is not leading an independent life” means that the person:
(a) does not have a partner; and
(b) is living with their parent (except where they are at boarding school, college or university as part of their full-time education).
Where a relative other than a parent may act as the sponsor or carer of the person, references in this definition to living with their “parent” shall be read as applying to that other relative.
As long as the child over 16 is living with you then the rules are satisfied. Younger children do not need anything

Thank you for the response.
I like to get more details on how exactly I can prove that my 17 year old daughter is living with me.
I have a bank statement. Will that be enough?
or Should I need to get additional proofs?
Your view please. thank you.

There is nos specific requirement. Provide whatever that links the child to the same address
