ILR application via Skilled Worker Dependent Route (5 year) Set(O) - additional document request ?

Hi all,

I’ve applied for ILR under the Skilled Worker Dependant Route 5yr (Set O).

My husband settled in the UK earlier this year via the Skilled Worker route 5yr, and my current skilled worker dependant visa is valid until early 2026.

Today I received an email from the Home Office asking for the following:

A letter from your employer that states:
Your current SOC code,
Your current salary,
Payslips
Any absences out of the country were authorised and,
That you are required for the foreseeable future

I’m currently not employed, and as far as I know there’s no financial requirement for dependants applying for ILR.

Could it be that they’ve misunderstood my application type and assumed I’m the main Skilled Worker applicant rather than a dependant?

Has anyone experienced this before, and how should I respond to clarify this? very confused about it.

Thanks in advance!

None of those are required for dependants at all.
Which option did you choose when applying using form SET(O) ?
SET(O) application should have been filed under 'Skilled Worker, Tier 2 or International Sportsperson dependant'

Thanks. I used exactly the same category — Skilled Worker, Tier 2 or International Sportsperson dependant'

Then write back and explain that you applied as a dependant and you are NOT a sponsored worker to provide such documents. They should notice their error
