Kid ILR application advice

HI,
My son was born outside uk before i was granted ILR. After my ILR, he came into uk on FL M visa with my ex partner who was also granted the same visa. Now i have sole responsibility for him due to relation breakdown. His previous visa is about to expire. Should i just extend his family visa for another 2.5 years or can i apply ILR for him as settled person's child?

Thanks in advance for any opinion.

I did my naturalisation application which was approved before they arrived in the uk.

The child can get ILR if you can prove sole responsibility. Note that sole responsibility has specific meaning under the rules:

Thanks for the reply. Ex partner is step mother of of my child. Since his mother passed away, i am the sole responsible parent of my child, i think. Will it be Set F Form to apply? Also his current visa expires on Feb '26, should i wait till then or can make the application now?
