Eligibility for ILR

Hello,

In Feb 2021, a student came to the UK for his masters in international business management, 1 year full time qualification.

He completes it in one year (in Feb 2022). But he does not do PSW. Because he got sponsorship visa.

He gets sponsorship visa, though not in a job related to the masters he has done in the UK.

Will his one year of study in the UK be counted for the ILR or he has to complete 1 + 5 years to be eligible for ILR?

In which year and month can he apply for his ILR? And what is the minimum salary requirement?

Thanks in advance.

The person needs 5 years on skilled worker visa.

Student visa time does not count for ILR based on 5 years, this applies to any qualifying ILR visa route based on 5 years.

Time spent on Student visas only counts towards 10 years Long residence ILR, not for any five year route leading to ILR (such as Skilled Worker or spousal).

They can apply for ILR 28 days before completing five years on Skilled Worker visa.

The salary requirement is based on the SOC of the job that he is employed in at the time of the ILR application. What is the SOC of his current job/Skilled Worker visa?

Thanks CR001.

Thanks secret.simon. I am not too sure about the SOC but it is as a care worker. Any info on how many years required to apply for ILR in this sector and the minimum salary requirement?

Thanks again.
