Query on SET LR for my wife and 2 kids

Dear All

I came to UK in Sept 2015 on Tier 2 ICT, switched to Skilled Visa in July 2021.
Applied and got ILR (SET LR) in September 2025.

My son was born in 2018 in UK, got his UK passport after my ILR.

My wife and 2 kids (born in India) joined me in UK in July 2016 as TIER 2 ICT dependents and switched to Skilled Visa dependents in July 2021.

My wife and kids (aged 14 and 12 now) will complete 10 years stay in July 2026.

So my understanding in applying ILR for them is
1. My wife and kids apply via set LR based on 10 year residence.
2. All 3 applications must be separate (cannot include kids along with wife)
3. Wife needs to clear life in the UK test and kids are not required.

Kindly confirm if above understanding is right.
Thank you.

Having read further on this board, I realise that Set O route can be used as well.

Please advise what would be preferred route then, Set O or Set LR, given they will be eligible for both at the same time.

Using Set O, wife and 2 kids can be a combined application, whereas, Set LR would be 3 different applications.

Yes both routes are possible. A single SET(O) application can be used to apply for all, however this changes nothing in terms of fees paid. So the choice is yours

Thank you so much!
I'm going with set O then!
