ILR as Family route dependants

Hi,
I have come to the UK in May 2011 and got my ILR under 10 years route in 2021.
Since then my wife and kids are on the Family route (2.5 year for 1st visa and then an extension of another 2.5 years). They are eligible for thier ILR in Sep 2026, probably with a 28 days earlier application window they can apply in Aug 2026. Children are born in India and hence have to switch to Family dependants from ICT dependants in 2021 once I got my ILR. My wife and kids will be eligible for a 10 year route in May 2017. However they are eligible under Family route in Aug 2026.
Queries:
1. My wife has a degree from India taught in Englis and have the NARIC certificate for it.
Will that be sufficient or should she write any IELTS?
2. What is the finance requirement for the spouse ILR visa, hearing news that a minimun 12,500 per year for the last 3 yaesr have to be shown. Can you please give some clarity in this case as there is some confusion and we want to be prepared.
3. Is the Life in the UK test requirement same or any changes in that as well?
4. Once my kids get thier ILR, can they apply for British passport straight away or should they have to wait for a year and then apply?
They are in the UK since May 2017.
Thanks in Advance.

Financial requirement

Hi,
As per proposed Financial requirement for Spouse ILR Family route, we hear that 12500 has to be earned
Can this be shown in the current year in the form of payslips, rental income etc... even before submitting the Self assessment to HMRC?
Or the financial year has to be completed to claim the 12500 earnings.

1. Old NARIC obtained under the red route can be used
2. There is no such requirement as the rules stand. You need min £18,600 and a bit more if you include the children
Read the official guide -->
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... rement.pdf
3. No changes has been announced
4. You cannot get a British passport unless they are a British citizen. Children born outside the UK have no entitlement to British citizenship at all. They can get registered as British (via form MN1) but to be eligible, they should have ILR, one parent must be British and the other should at least settled.

No changes have been announced at all. Income stratification depends all on which category you qualify under. For category F and G, you cannot claim self-employment income without submitting a self assessment or year-end accounts. Read the official guide I linked above

Hi,
My wife is about to apply her ILR in Sep 2026. She is on her 2.5 yrs + 2.5 yrs of the Family dependant as I am ILR holder.
1. Can we apply 28 days earlier(3 Aug 2026) of the 5 year completion date which is 3 Sep 2026?
2. What is the English requirement now? - We had the ECCTIS letter about her degree taught in English in 2021. Can we still us the same certificate as English language requirement while applying her ILR?

If you are British, then yes, your wife does not have to wait 12 months on ILR provided she meets all the requirements.
Also please ask your British Citizenship questions in the British Citizenship sub forum. These questions are not relevant to your ILR topic and the ILR sub forum.
ILR for my dependants

Hi,
I came to the UK in 2011 and after 10 years I got my ILR and my wife and kids started thier clock again as dependants as they were not eligible under 10 years (they were in India for more period even though the continuity is there)
I have my British Passport since 2 years.
There is a lot of talk on Dependant visas going for ILR, but I believe there are rules which haven't changed in 2026. Please correct me if I am missing anything here.
They are about to complete thier 5 years visa (2.5yrs + 2.5yrs) on 3-Sep-2026 as dependants.
1. Can they apply 28 days early for thier ILR?
2. Children were born in India, so will my kids have to apply for Naturalisation immediately after getting thier ILR?
3. What is the financila requirement and also other requirements to apply ILR?
4. Can my wife apply for Naturalisation and her British passport soon after she gets her ILR or should she have to wait a year to do so?
5. Any steps we need to follow or are we missing anything here?
Thanks a ton in advance.

ILR for my dependants

Hi
I have my ILR in 2021 and since then my wife and my kids are my dependants and they are qualifying for their ILR on 3rd Sep 2026.
As we can apply 28 days earlier (28 days before Sep 3rd), I have few doubts as below.
1. Can I apply my wife ILR on Premium (fast route of 1 week for a decision) and once I get it then apply for my kids in a normal route?
2. Do I need to show anyy funds in my account/wife's account?
3. What is the ILR route which I need to apply for my dependants?
4. What is the Premium fee for adult and kids?

Also, there is no 5 day priority service for their visa route. It is standard service or the £1000 per applicant super priority service.
Query on Incorrect wording in Visa approval email

Hi,
My Wife and both my daughters have switched as Family dependants once I got my ILR in 2021.
They are about to apply their ILR in a month, just realised that the Visa approval mail wording is the same for both my wife and daughters as 'Your application under the Partner (FLR M) route of the Immigration Rules has been successful'
The wording as Partner to my kids (who are now 12 and 9) is incorrect, but I dint bother earlier. Now we are about to apply for their ILR, so wanted to clear that.
Also, what type of ILR applications should my wife and daughters fill in. Here is our journey.
I first came into the UK as T2 ICT (Under rules before 2011 and hence my visa got extended uninterruptedly for 10 years). So I applied my ILR under 10 years route. Then my family switched as my dependants and started thier journey again for 2.5 years + 2.5 years.
So what is the ILR application type they need to fill in?
Thanks in advance

DO NOT start new posts and stick to this thread ONLY
That wording is not important at all.
They will apply for ILR using form SET(M):

Hi,
While applying ILR for my wife and my kids under Set(M) route as they switch as my dependants under Family route (2.5 yrs + 2.5 yrs) to qualify for their ILR, I have noticed that the options to apply is showing Partner only and NOT child of a settled person.
What is the application type I need to select for my kids in this case?

You add the children to your wife's form where you get the option. The form will adjust.
It is the same route for children, ie Set M.

My wife is applying for her ILR under Set(M)route along with our both kids (12 and 9) next week.
My wife's Job income: 24000 Gross per year
However, she gets rental income into her account (1800 per month)
Expenses:
House EMI: 1500 per month
Car: 300 per month
Utilities: 300 per month
Do I have to show my account and my employment details, are we complicating it is my concern.
My question is:
1. Will we have to show them the rental agreements?
2. Just to reconfirm what is the Gross amount she has to earn under the given rules?

Only ONE source of income is enough if that satisfies the requirements. Only gross salary value is used.
Read the official guide. See the link to the official guide above

Thanks Zimba for a quick response.
You mentioned 1 source is enough. My wife's gross is about 24000
Do we need to show £18,600 + £3,800 (1st child) + £2,400(2nd child) = £24,800 in total.
In that case my wife's Gross would not be enough, isn't it?

Only ONE source of income is enough if that satisfies the requirements.. If it does not then, you need more. You cannot just add your salary to your spouses' salary as explained above.

@CR001 @Zimba
Can I first apply my Wife's ILR and once approved apply for my kids ILR (as they have validity till Oct 2026)Asking this question because my wife's Gross salary is 23000 and based on Transtional requirement we need 24800 if we apply for my wife's and kids ILR together.
If in case I can apply my wife's ILR first and once approved what would be the ILR type I need to use to apply for my kids ILR and financial requirement

Financial requirement for children applying on any date under Appendix FM
A child applying under Appendix FM must meet the same financial requirement as
the parent they are applying to accompany or join, regardless of the date of the
child’s application.
You cannot circumvent the immigration rules that way. If that was the case, then everyone will apply for children later to avoid being subjected to the financial requirements. The financial requirement applies to the parent, so if the children apply later on their own, then the same requirements will apply later.
