Hi,

I intend to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain as the husband of a British Citizen in May next year. My 2-year spouse visa is valid from 28/05/08 to 28/05/10 and I entered the UK on 03/06/08, do I need to apply for a visa extension before applying for ILR?

Thanks in advance for your kind attention.

Sincerely,

Edward

You are allowed to apply for your ILR 28 days before the end of your 2 year spousal visa and you need not apply for an extension .Your status will not change while you are applying

And you can also check the UKBA website for more information on how to apply to settle as a partner of a UK citizen.

The crucial date is not 28 days before the visa expires but:
28 days before the 2nd anniversary of when you first entered the UK with this visa...but before the expiry date.
So..28 days before the 3rd June 2010
And you don't need an extension. :)
Have you passed the Life in the UK test yet?
