ILR due and passport expiring

Hi all
My ILR Is due now and my passport is expiring later this year. advice on which option i should go for:
1. get ILR on current passport, renew later this year before it expires and apply to HO to transfer my sticker to the new passport.

2. get a new indian passport now and then go for ILR in Feb 10. Then get ILR on the new passport though the current passport is still not expired.

I realise it may be too late to get a new indian passport now - what do you think? what option is preferable - option 1 has additional costs of transferring the ILR sticker to my new passport but is more straightforward?

My suggestion would be to go for option1 and then always carry/keep both old and new passports together while travelling.
There is no need/requirement to transfer your visa from old to new passport.
You just need to carry both together.
