Birmingham PEO ?

HI,
I am due to apply for my ILR.. I heard that things are slighlty
different in Birmingham PEO, where they will let us know if we WILL
get ILR in the initial screening itself and only then they ask us to pay the fees...
can anyone confirm if this is true ?

That cannot be true
I think they confirm that you have necessary documents to apply for ILR (and you are eligible to do it) - but not the fact that you will get it.

Yes I agree with wunder, you get assurance from the 'checker' that s/he is happy with the documents you presented and that if you also are feeling confident about it you may pay but you are on your own from that time forward, you cannot hold the 'checker' responsible if the caseworker who will deal with your application query it and refuse to give you ILR.
But from experience, these people are doing the checks with geniune minds and they really mean it that they are happy with your application going forward and most of the time more than 95% applications did this way were approved.
So if you went and the 'checker' said that he is happy with all the documents you brought and ask you to pay if you want to, then it's more than 70% sure at that stage that you would get your ILR approved.
The remaining 30% will only play out around so many other factors like what type of caseworker is dealling with your application, what mood is s/he in?, are you able to present your application with confidence without complicating things for yourself, good mother luck, e.t.c.
Generally, I think you should do your home work very well and make sure all loop holes are covered before you get down there, OK.
