Hi, Im due for ILR next month under WP + HSMP and Tier1. I have a question for the senior members and experts. My full name in my previous passport has a minor difference with my new passport. For ex: Given Name is X and Sur Name is Y Z in my old passport. this has been changed in new passport to Given Name: X Z and Surname: Y . my old passport contains the work permit on entry to UK and the new passport contains all the rest of work permit, HSMP and latest Tier 1 visas. All my new visa stampings are now as per my new passport name. Since i have to submit my old passport and new passports to case worker for ILR now, do i need to mention this status with case worker at the home office when im in person for the appointment. pls can some one advise on this one. Thanks in advance.

Which of your passports has the correct name ? as per your birth certificate ?
And why was it changed in the new passport? or was it a rare mistake?

So now your records in HO is in old correct name in old passport and new wrong name in new passport. When they pull your information from their files, they will first get the old correct name. (This happened in my case, the info they gathered was from my first initial WP and the salary mentioned there, job tiitle, etc).

And I believe you are planning to use the incorrect name in your ILR visa appln as "Given Name: X Z and Surname: Y"

Can you apply for a change of name in your new passport (a observation) because the passport information is used by Home Office very strictly.
