I first entered uk in Jan 2006 with my work permit expire in July 2006 , then I applied for HSMP and re-entered uk in Feb 2007. So a gap of 6 months without visa. But I have a letter from employer stating i was out of country for assignment in India.

From Feb 2007 I had a gap of around 4 months in between and I have a letter from employer for that as well.

I was reading thru all the latest form SET(O) and guidelines and 'Immigration Rules - Part5' ... but no where I can find the mention of continuous 90 days or 180 days ... so does it mean this requirement has been taken off ???

When will I be eligible for applying ILR.

Looking forward for guidance from experienced members.

Regards
Sunil

Absence from UK in 2006-2007 appears to be a definite break in residency (WP expired in 2006, entry on HSMP in 2007).

During the 4 month absence in 2007 (or later, not clear) were you paid (salary) in the UK?

You'll find the information regarding residential requirements (settlement) here.

Provide exact immigration history (with dates) and employment details during absences from UK so that others can provide you with more definite answers.
