Date on employer's letter?

Hi all,
I’ll be applying for ILR at the PEO on the 16th of August based on 5 years on a work permit. Does anyone know if there are guidelines for how recent the employer’s letter should be? I’m tempted to ask my employer for it right now but in that case the letter would be dated around the 21st of July, i.e. almost four weeks before the application date. Should I wait till August to get the letter or would it be okay?
