Hi All,

Just a quick question my husband and I have around 11,000 in savings which we have been saving for over the years.

However, hubby is due to apply for ILR in Jan and I wanted to know could his application be refused due to savings?

the reason I ask this is becasuse I am claiming CTC and CB is this going to be an issue even though we have a good amount of savings

Please help thanks so much I am worrying as you do?

Sorry to say enjoying any public benefit including CTC & CB during qualifying period for ILR will result to refusal. If you would look your visa stamp/ sticker you would see it is clearly written ' without recourse of public funds'

Hiya

You are correct they do not ask you about savings, they only ask you for details of other income over £300. So if your savings earn less than £300 there is no need to declare this income.

Hi all well I have just been told that you will lose your right to claim benefits if your svaings are over 16,000 so your be happy to know that I am well within my limit and therefore my Husbands ILR should not be refused on that basis

thanks to those who helped me

I know exactly what you mean its so stressful, you feel like your life is on hold! I see that your Husbadns ILR is due Jan 2011, same time as my husbands. I have been scared stiff that they would change the laws before we get to it, but I think we will be lucky!!

What documents do you have if you dont mind me asking?
