Hi I am just wondering if members of this forum would be able to help me with some queries. I should be applying for ILR in July 2011 on completing 5 years on HSMP as per current rules, we are all aware and scared of changes coming in July 2011. I am wondering as I got my hsmp prior to Nov 2006 would I be protected by JR ruling or would I need to go through pobationary citizenship.

On my last extension letter from HO, they said you have been given FLR and it should be sufficient to apply for ILR but they also mentioned that though current threshold for settlement is 5 year but this is subject to change and you will need to have completed the period specified in the rules at the time you submit your ILR application.

Another question is regarding finances, if any one of you could explain how much amount needs to be maintained for main applicant and dependent for ILR.
I know its very likely that this scenario might have been discussed in this forum earlier but I would appreciate some kind comments.

Thanks.

Masood

You are covered by the HSMP JR so entitled to settlement as it is granted presently - even if probationary citizenship laws come into effect when you become eligible to apply.

No minimum maintenance funds concept for ILR, unlike PBS.

Thanks sushdmehta, for satisfying comment, but I still wonder why did they mention that at point of ILR, I need to meet the qualifying period according to rules at the time of ILR application, though my last extension for 3 years was granted as per JR.
