Hello Friends,

Hope you can help me out here.

I finish 5 years in UK on 11th April 2011 and hence would be applying for ILR.

Here are my details:

First Entry in UK: 08th Jan 2006

On Business Visa (08-01-06 to 10-03-06) -- I hope this will not come in count.

Second Entry in UK: 11th April 2006

On Work Permit (11-04-06 to 11-04-07)

Work Permit Extension (11-04-07 to 11-04-09)

Out of UK (Hoilday): 15 Days (08-11-07 to 22-11-07)

Tier 1 General Visa - (02-06-08 to 03-06-11)

Out of UK (Working in INDIA) : 72 Days (07-02-09 to 19-04-09) – Got paid in INDIAN salary.

Out of UK (Holiday): 25 Days (23-09-09 to 17-10-09).


It is WP + WP extension + Tier 1 General Visa for me.

Please can advise me on the days which I have stayed out of UK.

Please can anyone tell me on the number of days or months .. that we can stay outside UK … ( In a period of 5 years of Stay in UK) …

In December month, I may need to work in INDIA for 1 month … please let me know does it affect my ILR application.

Any help and advice would be highly appreciated.

That might be a problem, being paid in an Indian salary. from the guidance:

In assessing whether or not an applicant has fulfilled the requirement to have spent five years in continuous residence in the UK, short absences abroad, for example for holidays (consistent with annual paid leave) or business trips (consistent with maintaining employment or self-employment in the United Kingdom), may be disregarded, provided the applicant has clearly continued to be based here.
