ILR Application on Tier2 WorkPermit

Hi,
I am in UK from 2006 on workpermit (Tier2) , have been getting extensions regulary and the last extension being Nov 2009 as ICT tier 2.
I am finishing 5 years soon and would like to apply for ILR.
I have doubts about following issues wit my case
a) I had lost my original passport few years back
hence the current passport don;t have the informatinon about my coming in ang goin out of the country during my earlier years (Although I know the dates when i had left and entered the country). How can I prove that I have spent the stipulated amount of time in the country? Any supportting documents that might help?
b) I have heard that we need to submit an employer letter, which should say that the compnay needs the employer in forseable future. since my company don;t support ILR application they won;t provide such a letter. They might only give a letter saying that the person is working with us from so and so date. Will that be a problem? Are there any suporting documents that I can present to them.
Appreciate a quick response as time is running out for me.
