Hello Guys !!

I have a question regarding indefinite leave to remain in UK. I entered in uk on 14th july 2006 on Work permit and my current visa will get expired on 12th june 2011 ( 32 days short of completing 5 yrs in uk).

My question is that can i apply for indefinite leave to remain directly or have to go for visa extension again bcos i fall 32 days short of 5 yrs??

Any help will be highly appreciated !!

Under current directions, you may apply for settlement no earlier than 28 days before the 5th anniversary of your entry in the UK as an economic migrant.

Assuming you are a Tier 1 (General) migrant (which the linked post seems to suggest), then a possible solution:

What's the date when you were granted entry clearance on your passport?

There is the latest explanantion for Tier 2 migrants, and it probably applies to WP migrants too.


Tier 2 migrants
You can count the period between the migrant being granted entry clearance and the date they entered the UK towards the five year period providing it is no longer than three months.
