hi all,

a friend of mine is on self employed lawyer visa since feb, 2007. he will apply for ILR next year that is feb, 2012. I have a question regarding his ILR.

1). Does he need to fulfil the Income criteria for ILR or it is just for Tier 1 (General) migrants?

thanks

dear sushusmeta,

you said that he is supposed to fulfil the income criteria to eligible for ILR in Feb 2012. but this category neither belongs to tier 1 (General) nor to Tier 2. he came in Feb 2007 on this visa (solicitor). he got extension for 1 year in march 2008. after few months home office closed that category and asked all visa holders (Solicitor) to send their passport back to endorsed it for full 5 years. he sent his passport and got 4 years extension. he did not extend his visa under the point based system. in fact there was no point based system when he got extension.

then how come he need to fulfil the income criteria?

what about the 10 years long residency rule?
what you think they also need to fulfil the income criteria for ILR.

regards,

shah
