HSMP - ILR question about section9

My initial HSMP VISA is granted on March 2007, then extended on March 2008. At that time, there wasn't such Tier1 thing, and I don't have any Tier
1 words on my VISA.

So when applying the ILR, should I skip the section 9? which seems so many documents need to provide.

Please advice.

Thanks!
Leon

If your visa stamp says HSMP then yes you can skip section 9. If you read the form, it clearly says

" Applicants who are applying for indefinite leave to remain in the following categories are required to complete
this section;
• Tier 1 (General)
• Tier 1 (Investor), including accelerated route
• Tier 1 (Entrepreneur), including accelerated route

If you are applying in a category other than those listed above, please go to Section 10.

HSMP is covered in Section 10G (For non JR) and 10H (For JR)

Thanks,
On my VISA, it doesn't say either HSMP or Tier1 words, on the approval letter it says HSMP...

Does anyone has same thing like that?

It has just say: Type of Permit: Limited Leave to Remain

what does the UKBA letter that accompanied the passport say about what type of visa has been granted?

THanks,

On my HSMP extension letter, it says: "Thank you for your application to remain in the United Kingdom as a Highly Skilled Migrant (HSMP)". I am pleased to tell you that your application has been approved ....

Date is on April 2008.

So it's HSMP? Not Tier1?

Will I be in the same category as HSMP?

Thanks

No, you are currently a Tier 1 (General) migrant.
