Hi All,
I am on work permit changed my employer in 2007.
I have got all p60's and p45 with me. The problem I am getting now is that my latest p60 shows the amount 17773 because of the fortnightly pay upto week 51 but I am contracted for 18000 which is as per the codes of practice.
My salary is gone up to 21k recently. Which letter shall I take from my employer 18k or 21k
As far as I know that you have to inform ho regarding salary increment or shall I take the letter for 18k and tell them that this p60 is till week 51.
Please reply to this asap.

if u see the code of practice it mention salary is calculated on 37.5 hour basis but if your work permit is issued on 40 hour then you have to show 40 hours money like (18000/52 week)=346.1538
IF YOU DIVIDED IT WITH THE 37.5 HOUR (346.1538)= HOURLY RATE SHOULD BE £9.2307
SO WEEKLY 40 HOUR CONTRACT( 40x52 WEEK)=2080 HOUR ONE YEAR
THE EARNING SHOULD BE (2080x9.2307)=19199.865 PER YEAR
BASED ON 40 HOUR CONTRACT YOU SHOULD GET 19199.865
IT DOSE N0T MATTER 2 MONTHS AGO YOU GOT LESS THAN THAT BUT BEFORE APPLY YOU SHOULD REACH THE AMOUNT.
THINK IT WILL HELP

hi i'm a work permit holder for 5 years came in 2006. i applied for ILR in 2nd week may 2011 in premium (same day) service, but my application is kept hold in peo office for enquiry
one of my friend who is working vth me who is getting £500/year extra salary than me applied for his ILR on 3rd week of may and he got ILR on the same day
the thing is v are working in different department different job profile.
i am almost waiting for almost 1 month. I also heard tro my friends that couple of their friends also working in the same line nd similar to my job profile also applied for ILR in may.. they also waiting....
one thing i can understand from your case is, as far as your contract hours is not mentioned in pay slips or employers letter or p60 or p45. they will calculate according to 37.5 hours.. you said that you got increment recently. you can provide that as the ecent earrning proof.
if you are earning more than the required salary as per the code of practice. you can mention that in your employers letter which you submit for continous employment.
i hope this information will be helpful...
all the best

But when you apply for the first time for your work permit there is process of giving a advertising on the job center that this is the post name and post offer how much money and how many hour you have to work for them. that contract paper you did submit to the home office when you applied for you work permit and think they hold the information.

I double checked my offer of employment and it says 37.5 hrs but the payslips I am getting now doesn't say any hours only says the gross amount which includes my bonus aswell which is differ everytime but it's all bacs . So if i'll take the letter from employer stating my gross (which is at the app. Rate as per the code of practice ) + bonus .
It will work or not ?
Please throw some light on this.
