time taken for settlement application by post?

hi,
i am curious how long has/does it typically take for applications made by post. I made mine on the 10th of June and still havnt heard back from anyone (got an ack letter) but that;s pretty much about it. Any pointers would really help for me to planf or the rest of the year.
