I am on work permit for last four and half years. i was supposed to apply for ILR early next year.
In July 2008, i was banned for one year for drink driving and was fined 200 pounds.
According to new laws there shouldnt be any unspent convition when applying for ILR. (fine stays on record for five years) Will i be refused ILR?
can any one please advise.

I am sorry to say that you only qualify for ILR after 5years so 2013 will be when you qualify for ILR

amerkhan77, you might be interested in this link, because if that Bill becomes an Act, the spent period for a fine will be reduced to just one year.

No guarantee that the Bill will become an Act, but let's hope it does.
