Hello,
I am due to make an ILR application, however I am recently self-employed and i have no payslips but bank statements. Also with regards to tax i have to file by the end of the year 31 December 2011.
Could you please help me on what i need to submit with my bank statements. I also have a letter from my agency stating that i am self-employed but it is the tax bit that worries me as this is only due to be paid after i file my return.
Could anyone help on this.
Your help is grately appreciated.

I think create bookkeeping sheet for these months(your gross and net)along with all supportive documents(sale,invoices,etc...),submit this everything to your accountant(chartered). On the basis of this the accountant will write the letter stating your income and what tax you will be supposed to pay at the end of the year. That was my accountant wrote when I applied for extension shortly after becoming as self-employed.

Have you registered as self employed with the HMRC?
Have you received your ten digit unique id?
Are you paying your NI contributions?
Self Employed

Please ask your accountant to do a set of Management Accounts (Profit & Loss only), Balance sheet is not required in your case.
I am assuming you must have registered yourself as a self employed with HMRC & you must be paying class 2 NI. This will be an important document for you as you started Self Employment recently you will not have other HMRC docs.

your registration as self employed and quarterly NIC class 2 invoices are HMRC documents and no further document is needed.
However if you are keen to get some more HMRC documents than here is the method:
You started self employment on 30 March 2011 and normal tax year ended on 5/4/2011 tax return for which is due up to 31/1/2012. But why to wait as you can file return of tax year 2011 even today by showing your income from all sources during the period 6/4/2010 to 5/4/2011 including self employment income during 30/3/2011 to 5/4/2011. You would get HNRC documents within days of filing return.

I have got the P60s for previous employment years up to 5 years. it is only this year that i am self employed. I just didnt know what to submit with self-employed status. But i think this is now clarified.
