Hello
I will be eligible for ILR on 19th Oct 2011. My daughter was born this June.
When I apply for my ILR will my daughter get ILR as well? Can someone confirm please

If she was born in the UK, then she
does not need ILR. She will be
entitled to register for British citizenship directly after you're granted ILR.

I also have the same dilema. What the doubt is when the baby is born myself and Coolrock dont have an ILR and in future we are going to get ILR.
I guess this issue comes under the category of Section 3(1) applications.
If this is true then what exactly we need to show to satisfy this comment "The application should be accompanied by as much evidence as possible to show us why the child should be registered as a British citizen."
Regards,
KK

Its Section 1(3) and NOT 3(1), as Vinny mentioned. You need to show that the parents have got ILR.

Thank you for the reply. A few more queries.
What will be the visa status for the baby untill on 19th Oct 2011?
I guess you would say there is not need to take Indian Passport.
After registration will the baby get a British Passport immidiately or can she travel using the mn1 registration.

is it mandatory for the mother and father to be in ILR for the baby to be entitled for british citizenship or can the father alone be in ILR?
This is because my wife wont get ILR while I apply for ILR as she has not been in UK for more than 2 years.

Any one parent's ILR is sufficient...regardless of father or mother...

Thank you vinny.i went through the documents.not once but many times.
Probably,i haven't understood clearly.
Its strange that I could go for via ilr or mn1.but what difference does this make.
Also the section 1(3) is clearly stating that "NOW". If the baby is born while you have ilr.
Sorry for asking this many times. Pls correct me.
