ILR Query : Need urgent help !

I will be applying for ILR day after tommorow.
I have a query regarding absences which amount to more than 6 month in total during the 5 year period.
If i calculate my total absences including the day i left London and the day i arrived back in London it is coming upto 185 days.
My query is: Is the day i left London and the day i arrived back are counted in this 6 month absence period ?? or how it is being calculated ??
for e.g.
If Boarded a flight from Heathrow on 8th nov 2010 and landed on 12th nov 2010. Then my absence from uk will be counted as 5 days or 3days ???
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
