hi i have a friend who was given 4 years working visa as a teacher with a school . her visa is about to be expired and she is confused about which category she fall into.
she has also been in this country for more than 10 years and and have a child.
her questions are:
can she apply for ilr after completion of her 4 years visa?
she knows she can apply ilr under the long residence but she does not want to is there any way to avoid that route?
what about the situation of her son he was born last year.
thanks

Do you have more details on 4 year working visa? When? What type?
Why doesn't she want to apply under long residence?
Child, if born in the UK, doesn't need to make any application for leave to remain.

thank you for the reply. she was granted the working visa on the 110ct 2007 and it expire on the 11 oct 2011 . her confusion comes from the fact that at the time there was not such thing call tiers 1 or tier2 etc... so her visa was just a working visa and was applied for by the school where she is working at the moment
thanks for the reply

Probably easier to apply for ILR under long residence rather than switching to Tier 2 (General).
