I get single occupant discount on my council tax for the apartment I own. Is it considered a council tax benefit (there is a check box for this on ILR form)?

its not considered as a benefit. it will only get considered as a benefit if you have all of the council tax bill paid.nchat wrote:I get single occupant discount on my council tax for the apartment I own. Is it considered a council tax benefit (there is a check box for this on ILR form)?
You are correct that the discount in not a benefit but this is not because the op's whole bill was not paid.zebra3 wrote:its not considered as a benefit. it will only get considered as a benefit if you have all of the council tax bill paid.nchat wrote:I get single occupant discount on my council tax for the apartment I own. Op - it is not a public fund because council tax benefit and qualifying for a discount or exemption on your council tax bill are separate issues. Council tax benefit is a public fund but qualifying for a discount is not.
