I have lived in the UK for 8.5 years now. I originally was on an Ancestry visa and currently on an extension which expires in May 2012. I have not been out of the country for more than 90 days a year since arriving except for this year which I was out of the country for a 19 week continuous stretch as I was pregnant so flew home to NZ to have the baby there (family support etc). The reason the stay was so long was that it is not recommended to fly after 34 weeks pregnancy so had to go out there earlier than planned.

I currently live with my fiancee and our daughter who are both UK citizens.

Have I blown my chances of getting my ILR visa due to the long absence even though I've stayed within the allowed days all the previous years?

But you claimed to have received ILR more than 13 months ago!

Yes.
Absences in the qualifying residential period are the only ones relevant, i.e. - absences in the 5 years preceding the settlement application.
