Hi all,

Does anyone know about these checking services? I have heard they do checks on your application to see if its complete before final submission.

Does anyone know if this is done for ILR cases too ie SET (O)? Is it worth trying for peace a mind that application is complete and correct.

Regards,
D

According to this UKBA webpage, the service is only available to applicants using form SET(M), so unfortunately it is not available to you.

Thanks John. That is really disappointing for Set O candidates.

I just contacted HO regarding the SET(O) checking service and they told checking of any application is up to local councils so you should ask them about the type of application they may check.

I have heard from a friend that some local councils in London check SET (O) applications but not sure about the address. If anyone knows please advice.

plaistow2005, the UKBA helpline has a reputation for sometimes not being that helpful. But if what you have been told is indeed correct, that seems to mean that the UKBA website is inaccurate.

I don’t think so it’s available for the SET (O) applications. It’s only for the SET(M) applications at the moment.

has anyone use this service before?

I am applying for ILR through peo but will need my passport for travelling in March. So thinking of applying for my husband and children using Set (M) postal and using the settlement checking service so they can verify my passport (as I will be needing them). I am currently on Tier 2 and husband & children dependant on my visa. Visa valid until August 2012.

Will this work?

I have checked my SET(O) application using checking services. The service which I used is in London and the address can be found here:

http://www.southwark.gov.uk/info/200067 ... ng_service

You need to book an appointment as there is a heavy queue there. There was a total cost of 78 pound for my application (main + dependents).
Other local registration offices may do checking on SET(O). You may ask your local council for possible checking facility. Hope this helps

That webpage talks just about SET(m) and is listed under marriages and civil partnerships section. Are you sure you used the service for SET(O) form?

Yes I am sure it is SET(O). You can simply call them and ask for this.

so they forwarded your application to UKBA and returned all originals including passport to you?
have you heard anything from UKBA yet?
