ILR - Insufficient Funds in the account is a problem!

Hi All,

I am going for my ILR appointment next week. I was in WP for first 1.5 years and since then I am in Tier1. I have two dependants.

I have read the FAQ section and read some of the comments in this forum. But I am still confused whether I should have sufficient funds in my account. The SET(O) guidance says that we should meet all criteria pertaining to Tier1. Does that mean, I should show sufficient funds for me and my dependants for the past 3 months, as I showed in my last Tier1 application.

Unfortunately, my account fell short of the money I need to have for few days. Do the caseworkers take this seriously. I know some of the members in this board, have said that it is better to have sufficient funds, but not mandatory. Is it true?

Is there anyone who got ILR without having sufficient funds in the account?

There is NO maintenance funds requirement for ILR applications.

You need to demonstrate earnings that meet the threshold for points you are claiming, and prove those earnings with documents from at least two sources. However bank statements are used only to correlate whether salary paid has actually gone into your account.

Do not worry.

Absolutely Not, there's no need to have any balance.

For ILR (and like Tier 1 extension) there is no requirement to show any funds in the account.

Also, there is another post on this, where application for ILR was successful even when the applicant and his spouse were unemployed. Please search for it to get more details.

you don't need a set balance particularly if you are working and earn enough to not have to claim additional public funds for your wife. How much do you earn and how much is your rent/council tax her month?

sorry - it was the OP who has a child also. Your income is fine for your wife's application - you don't need savings

Not if she is just applying on FLR M. You just need to show that after rent and council tax are deducted from your pay, you have at least £105.95 per week remaining which you do.
