Status of ILR or BC: Divorce impact relating to sponsor

Dear all,
I am the sponsor for my wife, who applied for ILR. A couple of months after the application, I filed for divorce, as it become unbearable. Still have not heard back from the Home Office, of what the status of the application is, which was submitted a bit more than 3 months ago. The Home Office was informed accordingly.
Does it matter or are there a difference if the sponsor is on ILR or a British Citizen, with regards to the application of my wife's ILR? In other words, does it matter if I am on ILR or a BC, when it comes to the ILR application or divorce, do the same rules apply for both?
My wife has been trying or are busy with a Domestic Abuse case against me, which is deceitful, since it is she that has been abusive, thus the reason for divorce. I feel it is wrong and did not go ahead with prosecution with the latest incident. I believe her aim is to make use of the Domestic Abuse scenario to get her ILR. She is also getting free legal advise, whilst I am unable to. Therefor I am on this forum to obtain more information.
Thank you.

With respect -you are not the one who needs immigration advice-so why do you need to seek it for free or otherwise? What application you wife chooses to make now is not really your Business. There is no difference if the sponsor has ilr or is British.
