I have a question regarding eligibility of ILR for my friend. His visa details are as follows:
1.Entered UK in NOV 2008 through work permit for 2 years
2. Extension done in NOV 2010 for 2 years in Tier 2(ICT) valid till Nov 2012. This extension was done in UK only
3.Company promoted him in OCT 2011. As part of promotion he was send to India for one month for a training program. His Tier 2(ICT) also got extended for 3 years from India. Now his current Tier2 (ICT) valid till Oct 2014. He spent around 50 days in India.
4.Throughout this period he worked for single company and continuing for the same organisation
5.Based on this scenario and current immigration rule whether my friend will be eligible for ILR in Nov 2013 or not ?
6.Can some senior member clarify?

Thanks in advance.

ILR rules state that you can't stay more than 180 days away from UK during the 5 yr period. In this 5 year period, you cannot have any continuous leave period of 90 days.

If you meet the above criteria, you can apply for ILR.

Thanks for your answer.

The gap was less than 90 days however my main question is if visa extension done outside uk then ILR clock will reset ?
