Hi All,
I am on old style Work Permit and will apply ILR in May’2013(may be one of last few). I am preparing for ILR in very advance and try to make sure preparation goes smoothly.

My job title is Network Support Engineer. So is the following information will be correct for the employer letter according toHome Office Occupation codes of practice for Tier 2.

“This is state that Mr. XXX is presently employed with COMANY XXX since XX/XX/XXXX and presently holds the job title of Network Support Engineer.

His current salary is GBP £££££ which is above the appropriate rate of GBP £27,000.00 as per SOC 3131 for Network Support Engineer as stated in codes of practice for Tier 2 sponsor.”

I am currently earning just below £27,000.00 and in a pay freeze for next couple of years. After a recent discussion with my employer they said they will increase it to match to £27,000.00. My second question is, will it be enough in May’2013, how frequently HO office change this Occupation codes of practice for Tier 2 incomes.

Thank in advance for helping me on this.

Hi genious,
Thanks for the reply. But my two question was.

1. SOC 3131 is the correct for the job title "Network Support Engineer".
2. If yes, is £27,000.00 salary will be enough for applying ILR in May'2013.

I had a quick check at the SOC and your CODE 3131 appears to be the right one. So yes £27000 should be sufficient (now) as you are being paid are being paid at the appropriate rate for this code. And it is the sponsors duty to match your code, so make sure the letter is done as per sticky.

I am not sure when they will update the codes next, but you should keep an eye on it particularly during the last few months before MAY 2013 so that any changes can be matched by your employer.
