Changes to the Immigration (eea)

On 16 July 2012, the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006 will change.

The amended regulations will set out the rights of EEA nationals and their family members to enter and reside in the UK and will also confirm the criteria for rights to permanent residence.

These latest changes will have no affect to normal EU residence permit rather will only affect the following categories falling under this:

primary carers of self-sufficient EEA national children;
children of EEA national workers or former workers where the child is in education in the UK;
primary carers of children of EEA national workers or former workers where that child is in education in the UK; and
dependent children under the age of 18 of the primary carers in each of the categories listed above.

Thank you for your email of 06/07/2012 enquiring about the progress of your visa application. I can confirm that the application is currently being processed but we cannot make a decision until all of our checks have been completed. We will do this as soon as we can. Our current processing time for Settlement / EEA visa applications is 12 weeks however we wish to process each application before the standard processing time.

Which email address you used to inquire the progress of application. Moreover, is that really now the processing time of EEA application is 12 weeks instead of 6 months.

i think you haven't read my previous post...i applied for eea family permit from islamabad, pakistan..In pakistan they treat eea family permit as settlement visa..therefore in reply "visaenquiries.islamabad@fco.gov.uk" they write "settlement/eea processing time is 12 weeks".

lolalaal your EEA national wife in uk is pakistani origin ?What supporting documents have you submitted with application ? I suppose you should have a message within days for cillecting your passport.wish you good luck.
