request passport

Hiya

My fiancée sent his eea2 alongside his dads eea1. His eea2 is based on being an over 21 dependant. My fiance wants his passport back as has no other i.d, and he has already recieved a COA with right to work.

Firstly, when filling out the passport return for online, does he select "over 18 dependant of main applicant", or "main applicant" as he is the main applicant of his own eea2 =/

Also, will asking for his PP back make his application process slower? It says on the declarations before you submit it that it may cause a delay but has anyone noticed any significant disadvantage to asking this back?
