Airlines accepting EU-Scheme BRC?

Hi All,
My wife (EU), myself (non-EU) and our daughter (non-EU) have been living in the uk for ~5 years and just granted the settled status. We both had the EEA-Family member cards until today.
My 5-year RC expired a week ago so had to renew it anyway. I read that they stop being valid end of the year so went for the EU-Scheme BRC.
My daughter has her RC until 2024, although soon going to stop being valid so went for the EU-scheme card as well.

We have submitted our application/docs for the EU-Scheme card, but had not received them yet.

My question is basically how do I prove to the airline in X country that I have the settled status here?

The could use my code/date of birth and check it via a computer, but doubt they have those handy in the counters, so it sort of looks like I'm flying without visa since I don't have a physical proof.

Does anyone have any information regarding the procedure to board a plane just with the settled status online?

We are in the uk, so all is fine, but it is stopping us from booking vacations any time soon.

With your Settled Status card, when you get one.

Correct. They will not, I repeat, will not go online and check that for you. This might be an option in some near future, but for the time being, do not bank on it. That is the reason the physical card exists.

Again, there is no provision for that.

This is the same case as spouses of EU nationals who, having the legal right to come to the UK on only their marriage certificate+passport, are always officially advised by the Home Office to obtain a Family Permit before coming, so they have a physical document to show. No other alternative was ever given.

That is what the Settled Status card is there for. Period.

You are the second person I see that manages to confuse themselves because they do not read whole documents. Please take a look at the paragraph just below what you are quoting:

Viewing and proving your status
You can view your status or prove it to someone else online. You will not usually get a physical document.

If you’re from outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland
You will get a physical document if you do not already have a biometric residence card.

The document you get under the EU Settlement Scheme proves your rights in the UK only.

To accompany or join your EU, EEA or Swiss family member in the EU, EEA or Switzerland, you’ll still have to either:

apply for a visa for the country you want to visit - this will be free
apply for a biometric residence card

The OP is non-EU, thus the lines in bold apply.

It does appear that after some struggle to get the settled status, we can't really travel anywhere until we get the new EU-Scheme BRC.

I remember seeing that quote and tried asking the reslution centre, but no luck. I think we'll not risk it and wait until we get the cards, they do say 8 weeks from the time you send everything. My daughter did it via the new app last week and I'm doing it this friday, is it actually 8 weeks since they don't really need to validate anything since I already have the settled?

If you have the EU Settlement only + non-visa free passport, they won't let you board until you get the EU Settlement Scheme BRC.

If you have EU Settlement Scheme + EEA Article 10 BRC + non-visa free passport, you will be able to travel to the UK in 2020 and 2021 without any further document. But this may change.
