EEA2 application required documents!!!

Post by bnymnklft » Wed Jan 04, 2012 9:00 pm

Hello guys

I have got couple of questions. I hope somebody can help me... I am student and married with my italian wife, we will apply for eea2 my student visa is gonna expire end of jan. my wife doesnt work . she is self sufficent she has got europen medical card so i think we dont need a comprehensive sickness insurance ( if i m wrong, please correct me..) I do not want to apply with a solicitors therefore i will apply by myself.

I am not so sure about supporting documents.
my wife has not got bank account but she always transfer money to my account so i can prove that by showing my banks statements and she has got papers from the bank in italy to prove that she has got enough money i think these are enough to prove financial issues. right?

except from that what kind of documents should i include?
I listed documents i prepared so far;
>my flat rent contract
>my bank account statements
>My wife bank papers from italy ( I think we need to translate them)
>tv and internet bills for her name
>water and gas bills on my name
> student paper ( i m not working, i m just full time student)
> paper from my school that i m student
> photographs
>marriage certificate
> application form

Except from these can anyone please help me what to include on my application?

I really need help, I will be happy if you can help me..

Thank you very much to everybdoy

First of all, you should be aware that even if your student visa runs out, you are legal in the UK as you are married to a EEA national exercising treaty rights.

As for the documents:

- Your student papers are not needed (it's your wife status that matters).
- If the EHIC card doesn't cover you, then you need insurance to cover you.
- If you use an EHIC card as CSI, you need to add a letter stating your intentions are to stay temporary in the UK (for example until your studies finish). This letter has no implications on obtain Permanent Residence in future if you end up staying.
- Strictly speaking utility bills are not needed but as your wife has no bank account in the UK, I would add them to show she lives in the UK (1-2 bills is enough. If she is not listed on the rent contract, no point in sending that).

If documents are not in English, they need to be translated (although I guess bank statements are pretty self explanatory).

If both of you are named on the council tax bill, you can add instead of one of the other bills. There is no need to send many bills. 1 or 2 to show your wife lives in the UK is enough (normally, bills are not required for EEA2 applications).
