EEA family visa

my wife is russian and i am French, does she need to apply for visa or is family permit application ok if we are traveling to the UK together for a short visit. We will not live in the UK, just going for 2 weeks. We want to apply for the EEA permit because its free.

if you both traveling together for short visit and you are nt currently in uk

you give

both of your passports
marriage certificate and translation in english attested from foreign affairs
letter from you that you want to travel to uk for 2weeks and want your wife to travel with you

Thanks, but it is the family permit that we apply for? (not the general visitor visa)
