Please i am asking this for a friend .
He apply for a retention of rightof eea residence permit and the enterprise he work for is not registered under company acts because it is sole trader.
Please is it compulsory for the business to be registered?
or is there any implications to his application?
Please note he is an employee under the enterprise.

Any advise will be welcome.
Thanks.

The fact he is working for a sole trader rather than a limited company means that there will be no records at Companies House because they only deal with companies (plus some partnerships) and not sole traders.

However, any business that is hiring staff must be registered with HMRC as an employer and submit certain PAYE information about their employees. See http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/paye/intro/register.htm for more info

Therefore as long as the business is above board then there will be public records of him working for them etc
