Hi!
I sent my all my docs (including wife's passport and mine) to apply for the residence card EEA2 on 13th March via special delivery post (next day). Today 5th May, Ive just received a packet from UKBA with all my docs but WITHOUT OUR PASSPORTS and a letter from them saying 'the following additional evidence will be needed:

- A valid passport of (my name)
- A valid passport or national ID for (my wife's name)

CANT BELIEVE THAT! Also the date when the letter was made is 16th April and it just arrived today1

What can I do? I dont have any idead
Its so annoying, Im so angry and sad!

Somebody could help me?

How come they received your application and did not get the passports!!!

Obv royal mail delivered it if they got it, except someone opened your application pack and took your passport!

Talk to HO on Tuesday. I'm sure they will say it is lost but will find it in a few weeks time (not the first time this happens).

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I know is not the first time this happens, I was trying to find something similar to my case on the forum (cos Im pretty sure Ive seen something here), but I couldnt.
Anyway, how can I know who's fault?? UKBA or Post Office?
Because if it was Post office's I have the rights to claim for the insurance for my docs because they were lost, isnt it? As I used Special delivery service.
By the way, its so annoying, Ive been waiting for 2 months and they just sent me back this sh** saying 'we need your passports' without saying who lost them!!

I would also report to the Police that passports has been lost/stolen.
You never know where they are, someone maybe using them.

presumably the HO would claim they never got the passports so you could claim the PO insurance but I suggest you insist the HO investigate as it is more likely it got lost at their end than that someone stole just the passports from the package.
